I started my career as a cabinet maker in 2004 with an apprenticeship at a renowned bespoke furniture company based in Suffolk specialising in bespoke kitchens, fitted and freestanding furniture.
It was here that I developed my skills to produce high quality pieces of furniture using traditional and modern jointing and construction methods. After several years I had become one of their senior cabinet makers undertaking interesting and challenging design projects for a number of clients.
I moved on to become a foreman for several more years at another bespoke furniture company in Suffolk, further enhancing my skills and design techniques.
Alongside this I decided to create my own bespoke furniture company in Norfolk, where I could handcraft high quality bespoke furniture.
At Bespoke Handcrafted Furniture all commissions are handmade from high quality, carefully selected local timber, always FSC approved.
I have a passion for working with wood and a keen eye for precision and detail. I love to bring out the natural beauty within the materials I use, to produce aesthetically pleasing pieces of furniture and incorporating them perfectly into homes and businesses across the East Anglian region.
The vast majority of materials I use are hand-picked by myself at the local saw mill, whether the finished piece is going to be a natural finish or painted.
I offer spray painted finishes for a clean smooth finish, or a hand-brushed finish for a more traditional look. Any colour of paint can be provided to suit your decor and is always water-based as this is far kinder to the environment.
For natural finishes direct to wood I use Osmo oil. This product has been developed to allow a deep penetration into the grain but still allows the material to breath whilst also preserving it, keeping it healthy for decades.
